Julia James MCSP, AACP
(Clinic Owner)
Julia trained at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and qualified in 1974. Since then she has gained wide experience in all areas of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, working in the NHS for a number of years and also running the Physiotherapy Department of the British Military Hospital in Berlin. She has been part of this private practice in Wrexham since 1996.
Linda Heaton MCSP, PgDipAc, AACP
Linda trained at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry and qualified in 1981. She worked for several years in the NHS, both in hospital and community settings before joining the practice in 2000. Linda has a special interest in outpatient musculoskeletal physiotherapy and acupuncture. She gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Acupuncture in 2008 from Coventry University.
Kevin Bell MCSP, AACP
Completed training at Otago University School of Physiotherapy, New Zealand in 1998. Kevin then worked for several years in Wairau Hospital in Blenheim NZ and was physiotherapist for the Marlborough Rugby Football Union before making the move to the UK in 2001. Since then Kevin has continued to specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy with an interest in sports injuries. He also has a particular interest in the treatment of vertigo, dizziness and other vestibular disorders.
Katherine (Kassie) Ward MCSP, ACPIN
Kassie trained at St Mary’s Hospital in London and qualified in 1990. She specialised in neurology from 1992 and has worked in a variety of specialist units, including the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and a rehabilitation unit in Germany. For the past 10 years she has worked in outpatients treating both neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, in both the NHS and private sector. She is Bobath trained and a member of ACPIN.
Karen Davies MCSP, ACPWH
Karen trained at Oswestry School of Physiotherapy and qualified in 1980. She worked first in Coventry and then Chester before settling in Wrexham. She has worked in both the NHS and the private sector, working at a senior level in most branches of physiotherapy.
Karen chose to specialise in gynaecology and urology in 1998, and has a specific interest in pelvic floor dysfunction in both men and women. She is a member of the All Wales ACPWH Group and maintains close links with multi-disciplinary team members working in this field.
Siobhan Cowling MCSP, AACP
Having completed her first degree in Sports Science and Psychology at the University of Birmingham, Siobhan then trained as a physiotherapist at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry, qualifying in 1992. She worked for several years in the NHS at Worcester and Oswestry, before specialising in outpatients, treating musculoskeletal problems. She has worked in the private sector for 10 years.
Siobhan has also taught physiotherapy for several years at Keele University.
Joanne Massey MCSP
Joanne trained at Salford University and qualified in 2002. She first worked in Glan Clwyd Hospital in Denbighshire before moving to Wrexham. She has worked in the NHS and private sector, working at senior level over the past 3 years, where she has gained a wide range of experience within musculoskeletal physiotherapy, with a particular interest in the upper limb.
Tracy Jones BAOT, BAHT
Tracy trained in Coventry and graduated in 1989. Initially she worked in Birmingham and then at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford where she specialised in Hand Therapy and Rheumatology. Since 1999 she has worked at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Hospital in Oswestry as a Clinical Specialist in hands. She has an MSc in Hand Therapy and is a member of BAHT.
Fiona Fraser MCSP, BAHT
Fiona qualified in 1991 from Oswestry & North Staffordshire School of Physiotherapy. She worked as an NHS physiotherapist in Edinburgh and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London acquiring experience in a variety of orthopaedic conditions. A special interest in Brachial Plexus injuries developed in Stanmore and thereafter Oxford, where she worked for over 8 years with a dedicated Hand and Upper Limb team at both the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and John Radcliffe Hospitals till 2006, in an extended physiotherapy role. She now works as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practioner in Orthopaedic Hand clinics and physiotherapy at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital. She is a BAHT member and currently sits on the BAHT education sub-committee.
Grevin Jones MCSP
Grevin qualified from Keele University in 1996. He has specialised in musco-skeletal since 1998 and gained experience in many different areas including; Sports, Occupational health, Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and class based rehabilitation. Since 2008 he has worked as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Pain at the Wrexham Maelor hospital and works within a team who specialise in treating patients with sometimes very complex pain presentations.
Margaret Beard, Practice Secretary
Margaret has worked for the Clinic for 14 years. She has a PA/secretarial background and has always worked at a senior level. She has a wide knowledge of office practices and procedures.
As Practice Secretary, Margaret is used to dealing with people in a confident and professional, albeit sensitive, manner, and will often be your first point of contact with us. She works on a full time basis to ensure the smooth running of the Clinic.
