Initial assessment
Your first visit will last 30 - 45 minutes, depending on the complexity of the problem, during which a detailed history will be taken, followed by a physical assessment. Although our treatment rooms are private, you may wish to wear or bring appropriate clothing e.g shorts, t-shirt, trainers etc, so that we can observe and properly assess the body part that is causing you a problem.
Following your assessment, your physiotherapist will discuss his/her findings with you and agree a plan of treatment. You will be given some idea of the likely outcome and expected number of treatments needed, and usually treatment will start at the first visit. However, if you have several areas requiring treatment or a particularly complicated problem, then your first visit may not involve any treatment.
Costs
We charge £45 for your first routine assessment and for each 30 minute follow up session. Certain specialised assessments such as Vestibular, Pelvic Health, Neurology and Hand Therapy will be charged at a different rate - please phone for details. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or BACS. Alternatively, we can invoice your insurance company directly if you provide us with the appropriate details. However, if your claim is refused, we would like to remind you that you will be responsible for all treatment costs.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel please try to give at least 24 hours notice. A charge may be made if insufficient notice is given, or if you fail to attend an appointment.
